Consortium officially files its Charter with the State of Tennessee in July and applies for nonprofit status with the IRS as an independent, new nonprofit. This enables the organization to be able to accept membership dues and community donations directly, instead of being under the fiscal oversight of another entity. The consortium is incredibly grateful to the Metro Nashville Public Health Department and the Saint Thomas Health Foundation / Ascension Saint Thomas Health Foundation for their fiscal leadership and willingness to support the consortium with financial oversight for the last two decades.
Consortium receives a one-year grant from The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to increase usage and availability of clinical information on the My Health Care Home website. The website experienced a 65% increase in average monthly users, and the information on the site was translated into 9 different languages to make it more accessible to patients. During the project year the Safety Net Consortium created and deployed a clinic portal for the website which allows clinics to update their own data, hours of operation, etc.
